Your data on your Mac
TinyKPI runs locally on your Mac. Integration credentials, API keys, database connection strings and the business metrics the app keeps are stored on your device, rather than on TinyKPI servers.
There is no TinyKPI cloud dashboard storing a copy of that business data. Your Mac’s own backup or sync settings may create copies of local files outside the app’s control.
Connected services
Local does not mean offline. When you connect an integration, your Mac communicates directly with that service. It sends the credentials and requests needed to retrieve the metrics you select.
Database queries are initiated from your Mac and sent to the database you configure. If that database is hosted remotely, it receives and executes those queries. Results return to the app on your Mac without being routed through TinyKPI servers.
Connected providers handle those requests under their own privacy policies and your account settings. Only connect services you are authorized to use, and use read-only credentials where possible.
Visiting this website
Browsing the landing page does not give the website access to the app’s credentials, queries or metrics on your Mac.
The landing page does not use advertising trackers. Its product previews use example values.
We use our hosting provider’s website analytics to understand visits to public information pages. These aggregate statistics include page views, referring websites, approximate location, and browser and device type, without third-party cookies.
We exclude checkout, purchase recovery and thank-you pages from page-view analytics, and remove query parameters and fragments from the page URLs we send. We do not send license keys, order details or information from the desktop app to website analytics.
Our hosting provider processes technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, the requested page and the time of the request, to deliver the website, troubleshoot errors and protect it from abuse. These requests do not contain the business data stored in the app.
Requests and messages
The integration request form prepares a message in your own email app. Entering information in the form does not submit it to a TinyKPI server. You decide whether to send the email.
If you choose to email a request or contact support, the recipient receives your email address and the information you include. That information is used to respond to your message and handle your request. Please do not include API keys, database passwords or other secrets.
Purchases
Payments are handled by a third-party checkout provider. When you buy the app, that provider processes your payment details and the billing information needed to complete the transaction, calculate taxes and issue a receipt. TinyKPI does not receive or store your full card number or card security code.
We receive purchase records such as your email address, order reference, product, amount paid and payment status. We use these records to deliver and manage your license, provide purchase support, process refunds and meet accounting obligations.
License activation and verification may send your license key, activation identifier, app version and license status to our licensing service. This information is separate from your integration credentials, database queries and business metrics; those are not included in payment or licensing requests.
The checkout provider is identified when you pay, and its own terms and privacy policy also apply to the information it processes.
Your choices
You control the integrations and credentials you provide. You can revoke a key or a service’s access through that provider. Removing local app data does not delete records already held by your connected services, your email provider or your backups.
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information we hold, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to raise a concern with your local data protection authority.
To make a request, use the support contact included with your license or purchase receipt. We may need to verify your identity before acting. Some purchase records must be retained to meet legal obligations, even if you request deletion.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated when the way information is handled changes. The date above identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
Privacy questions
For questions about this policy or your information, contact us using the support details included with your license or purchase receipt. Include your order reference if your question concerns a purchase, but never send integration credentials or database passwords.
For the conditions of using the website and app, see the Terms & Conditions.
